Before figuring out the rank we want to say that the military becomes strong not only because of  annual defence budget, defensive and offensive weapons or equipment, but due to the morale of the soldiers, support of the people whom they are protecting. This is the primary support of the defence, rest are secondary.   


According to the SIPRI (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute)  top three nations in the list remain the same with an increase in the annual military budget in 2020 compared to 2019. Russia has jumped the place from 9 to 4th. 


Military budget, also known as mililtary expenditure is a amount of financial resources dedicated by the government to raise and maintain their respective armed forces and other essential services for the military purpose.
